Always remember that musical spoons are made of wood and should never be placed near a heat source, a projector, a radiator or in direct sunlight. The wood could warp and make the spoons unusable.
They should also not be immersed in water or subjected to high humidity for extended periods. The wood could also warp.
The dishwasher... the number 1 enemy of wooden spoons!
The finish of the spoons was done in the workshop by applying a natural oil whose role is to harden the surface of the wood and protect it from variations in the ambient environment. Although this oil treatment can provide excellent protection for the spoons for years, frequent handling has the effect of dulling the luster of the wood surface and diminishing its protective qualities.
It is therefore recommended that occasionally and as needed, a coat of natural wood oil, which can be obtained at a hardware store, be applied to the spoons.
